Russia Claims No BRICS Invitations Have Been Rejected

During the October BRICS Summit in Kazan, around a dozen new countries were invited to become new BRICS partner members. Describing the process for their accession during an interview with TASS, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said that all the invitees appear to have accepted the invitation.

“As of today, the list is not closed yet; no invitations have been rejected and the [Russian] chairmanship expects to make the list public before the end of the year,” Ryabkov said in response to a question. “Everyone agrees that this is the right path,” he said.
