On Fox News’ “Ingraham Angle” on Nov. 19, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) called Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to strike Russia with U.S. long-range missiles “unbelievably reckless and irresponsible,” saying it could lead the United States into World War III.
Hawley went on, insisting that it “looks like escalation to me … it looks like a green light for escalation on the part of Ukraine, and then Russia—what would happen if Russia would launch retaliatory missiles into the territory of a NATO member? Then our treaty obligations would be triggered. I can’t imagine that President Trump wants that—he’s been totally against it. What I’m sure he wants, is for Biden to stop screwing this up, and allow him to get in office and begin to work toward America’s security interests.” Biden’s decision is “putting our interests last” Hawley stressed.
Hawley also stated that he doesn’t think Biden actually made the ostensible decision, but that it was made by the “deep state” that wants the war to escalate.
