The game continues in Washington, as the White House, the Pentagon and the US State Department makes no confirmation or denial of the reports, initiated by yesterday’s New York Times report, that the Biden administration has decided to have U.S. long-range missiles fired deeper into Russia. U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, when asked about the report, only said that he could not “confirm any policy changes.”

However, the EU’s outgoing foreign policy chief Josep Borrell took it upon himself to confirm what official Washington cannot or will not, that the U.S. “has authorized the use of its weapons, with up to 300km radius, (to hit) into the Russian territories.” The chatty Borell went on to say: “It’s not that much in terms of distance, it doesn’t go deep into the country, but this is the decision by the Biden administration.” They had “said ‘no’ for a long time and then they are ending up saying yes. Why have they taken this decision now and not before the elections? I don’t know.”
