Earlier this year, Donald Trump filed a defamation suit against ABC News after anchor George Stephanopoulos said ten times during an interview that Trump had been found liable for “rape” in the E. Jean Carroll case. The jury in the civil case that Carroll had brought against Trump did not find that he had raped her.
Trump’s suit claimed that the statements were “false, intentional, malicious and designed to cause harm.”
