Court Denies Attempt To Delay January TikTok Ban

A U.S. Appeals Court has rejected a petition by TikTok and parent company ByteDance for a preliminary injunction to prevent application of the law requiring the sale or shutdown of the social media platform. TikTok requested the injunction as its case makes its way to the Supreme Court, “to create time for further deliberation” and to “permit the Supreme Court to consider this case in a more orderly fashion.”

TikTok also argues that the delay would “give the incoming Administration time to determine its position on this exceptionally important matter.”
