The mysterious killer disease reported in November that broke out in the Democratic Republic of Congo (D.R.C.), is now being identified by the D.R. Congo’s Health Ministry as severe malaria which, they noted, was occurring in the midst of widespread malnutrition. Last month, officially 143 people had died from the unidentified disease. Now the Health Ministry announced: “The mystery has finally been solved: It’s a case of severe malaria presenting as a respiratory illness.”
