Friedrich Merz, chancellor candidate of the German Christian Democrats, met with the Ukrainian President Zelenskyy in Kyiv yesterday.
In view of the coming Trump Administration come Jan. 20, which is expected to reduce support for Ukraine, Merz in his discussion with Zelenskyy proposed a European contact group to coordinate continued military support for Ukraine, based on a common strategy which does not yet exist but was needed on the European side.
