Reuters reported on Dec. 12 that Russian state oil company Rosneft has signed a deal on to provide half a million barrels per day to Reliance, an Indian petrochemical refining company. This is a large volume of oil, approximately 0.5% of total global supply.
Russian oil already accounts for more than a third of India’s energy imports. (The EU was Russia’s top customer before 2022.)
