France is about to lose another military base in Africa, this time in Senegal, whose Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko announced the decision to close all foreign military bases, in a statement in the country’s parliament on Dec. 27, outlining the government’s strategy until 2050.
“The government has decided to close all foreign military bases on Senegalese territory,” Sonko stated. “This decision reflects our determination to strengthen national sovereignty and reorient the country’s defense policy.”
