A serious escalation, and even a nuclear war, could break out over the Ukraine in the next six weeks, warned Serbian President Alexander Vucic at a public event in Switzerland yesterday. Speaking at a Zurich event organized by Weltwoche, hosted by Editor-in-Chief Roger Köppel, Vucic said that he expects an escalation in Ukraine within the next six weeks and even the possibility of nuclear warfare. “Of course I hope I’m wrong. Because then something good will have happened.”
Vucic then said that he held a certain hope in U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. “He will try to get closer to a solution.” However, whether he will manage to do that, is an open question. He said he would have liked to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as did Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, but it would have created pressure regarding EU accession.
