Mike Waltz, President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to become National Security Advisor met with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto. Afterwards, Szijjarto reported that, while a change for resolving the Ukraine conflict under U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s aims is possible, the danger of escalation still exists during these last days of the Biden administration. “We are very close to a point where Donald Trump’s goal of putting an end to this war becomes a reality,” he remarked in an interview with Hungary’s M1 broadcaster. Nonetheless, he warned, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has a completely different position, focused on continuing the Ukraine conflict, as he indicated at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels on Dec. 3-4.
