Dr. Massad Boulos, Tiffany Trump’s father-in-law, was appointed Middle East advisor. Boulos had an unofficial role in Trump’s 2024 campaign, courting the Arab and Muslim communities. He has also functioned as the main channel of communication between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Trump in recent months. Boulos is Lebanese, whose family has been part of the party associated with former President Michel Aoun.
Trump also appointed Jamieson Greer to be U.S. Trade Representative. Greer had been the chief of staff to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, who held the position during Trump’s first term. Lighthizer was a rabid anti-China hawk.
