Israel has reportedly confirmed that Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of northern Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital, whom Israeli forces kidnapped on Dec. 27, is in custody. The IDF told CNN today that Dr. Abu Safiya “was apprehended for suspected involvement in terrorist activities, and for holding a rank in the Hamas terror organization, while hundreds of Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists were hiding inside the Kamal Adwan Hospital under his management. He is currently being investigated by Israeli security forces.”
CNN notes that the IDF has made this claim previously during the raid on Kamal Adwan, but has provided no evidence to substantiate it.
