Russophobic EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas was in Rome on Jan. 10, where she met Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, and participated in a “Quint” meeting on Syria.
In an interview with Italian news agency ANSA, Kallas commented on Trump’s intention to meet Putin, saying that force and not negotiations is the language to be used with Putin.
“This war will end as soon as Russia stops bombing civilians and civilian infrastructure and withdraws its troops,” Kallas said, adding: “If you put pressure on Putin, political and economic pressure, then the outcome is positive.”
