In a memo to employees reported by Axios, Facebook’s parent company, Meta, has announced that it is disbanding its DEI team, ending “representation goals” for women and ethnic minorities, and changing its supplier policy to promote contracts with small- and medium-size business rather than “diverse-owned businesses.”

“Instead of equity and inclusion training programs, we will build programs that focus on how to apply fair and consistent practices that mitigate bias for all, no matter your background,” the memo said.
