Sergey Naryshkin, the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), told TASS on Saturday, Jan. 25, that he’s ready to meet with the new CIA Director John Ratcliffe, at any time, if the U.S. is interested in such a meeting. TASS reports: “Asked if the SVR and the CIA continued to maintain contact, he noted: ‘We have an official representative in Washington, while the Central Intelligence Agency has its official representative in Moscow.’”

John Ratcliffe was sworn in on Jan. 23. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 2015 to 2020. From 2008 to 2014, he worked at Ashcroft Sutton Ratcliffe LLP, the firm he co-founded with former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, noted Homeland Security Today.

The CIA notes that Ratcliffe “is the first person ever to serve as both Director of the CIA and Director of National Intelligence, having previously been confirmed as DNI during President Trump’s first administration.”
