New Express Shipping Line from China to Europe

Following the launch of the new direct connection between Wilhelmshaven, Germany and China, the first ship Kawa Ningbo has successfully arrived. If everything goes according to plan, freighters will only need 26 days instead of 40 in the future.

The new express line through the Suez Canal called “China-Europe-Express” (CEX) connects Wilhelmshaven’s JadeWeserPort with a port in the city of Ningbo—one of China’s largest ports. The shipping line was launched at the end of December 2024, when the Kawa Ningbo also set off and reached Wilhelmshaven in the evening of Jan. 23. Today, there is to be a reception for the Chinese delegation on board at the port premises. Representatives of the port operator Eurogate, the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economic Affairs and the City of Wilhelmshaven also plan to attend.
