‘Total Defense’ Against Russia Expected from Polish EU Presidency

Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk has taken over the half-year EU Council presidency from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, which implies that the latter’s pro-Russia views will be replaced by a strict anti-Russian course. The Polish government has been strongly opposed to Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, and has called for more and harsher sanctions against Russia. The motto for Poland’s EU presidency is “security for Europe” and “total defense” against, as NATO claims, Russian hybrid warfare, disinformation and sabotage attacks.
