U.S. Defense Chief Heading to Europe To Talk Military Support to Kiev Regime

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will be departing for Ramstein, Germany on Jan. 7 for the final Ukraine Defense Contact Group of the Biden Administration “to reaffirm our enduring commitment to Ukraine,” Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh announced yesterday. “Secretary Austin will focus on delivering practical and coordinated support that reinforces Ukraine’s ability to defend itself today and deter aggression in the future,” she added. Singh otherwise refused to confirm rumors circulating in the press that the Biden administration is planning to announce another arms package for Ukraine.

Next week’s meeting will be the 25th since Austin initiated the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in 2022. So far, Austin’s initiative has failed to produce the “strategic defeat” of Russia, the objective Austin specified when he began it.
