U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen held a 45-minute telephone conversation yesterday, including on the Greenland issue, and they agreed to continue talking next week after Trump takes office. The prime minister has invited Trump to visit Denmark. She has also been in close contact with the leader of Greenland’s autonomous government, Múte B. Egede.

After she had given the Danish parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee an orientation today, it came out that Trump did not take back his statements on the potential application of economic or military force.
