In a quite late action, the CDU/CSU filed a total of 551 questions to the (still Scholz) government on the funding of so-called independent organizations that organized mass demonstrations “against the rightwing” (read: AfD) on Feb. 24. Under the title of “Political Neutrality of State-Funded Organizations,” the query mentions Omas gegen Rechts, BUND and Greenpeace, among others: “What proportion of the financial resources of the association Omas gegen Rechts Deutschland comes from state funding programs?” And: “Are there direct links between the association Omas gegen Rechts Deutschland e.V. and certain parties or political actors?”
Until the new legislature (Number 21) of the Bundestag convenes, the old one (the number 20) is in place, as is the Scholz caretaker government.
