Egypt Could Rebuild Gaza in Three Years

Egypt has the capability to rebuild Gaza in three years, Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated on Feb. 19, during his cabinet’s weekly press conference.

He added that the government is already working on formulating the framework for Gaza’s reconstruction plan, in collaboration with universities and specialized Egyptian consultancy firms. Egypt has also considered the involvement of international institutions, including the World Bank. “From a technical and engineering perspective, we possess the full capability to restore Gaza to a condition even better than its pre-destruction state within three years,” Madbouly asserted, adding that Egyptian, Arab, and Islamic firms have the required expertise to complete the reconstruction, and that “three years is sufficient to rebuild Gaza,” reported Al Ahram.
