Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has extended an official invitation to Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa to participate in the Arab Summit taking place in Cairo on March 4, which is dedicated to discussing the Gaza Strip, to offer an alternative to the plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
This was confirmed by the Syrian presidency in a statement announcing that it received the invitation “to participate in the emergency meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States, which will be held on March 4, 2025, in Cairo.”
