According to wishful thinking of European geopoliticians, some of whom met in Paris yesterday, the talks between Trump and Russia will not generate concrete results anytime soon, and there will not be peace in Ukraine in the near future, either.
Remarks by outgoing German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) reflect that wishful thinking. “We should not now make the huge mistake of doing Putin a favor by making these talks bigger than they actually are,” Baerbock told ZDF’s “Morgenmagazin” on Feb. 18. It was a matter of “making contact.”
