Hamas Official Warns Ceasefire Talks on Verge of Collapse

Hamas political bureau member Basem Naim told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that the ceasefire deal “is in danger” and “may collapse,” reported TASS. The official accused Israel of delaying the implementation of the deal and not following through on its obligations. Naim claimed, nonetheless, that Hamas “is still ready” to continue the talks in Qatar and move on to phase two of the deal.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu delayed the beginning of the talks, which were supposed to begin Feb. 3 (see separate report.
