Israel Refuses To Withdraw from Gaza Border with Egypt, Violating Ceasefire Agreement

Israel is refusing to withdraw from the Philadelphi Corridor on the Gaza side of the border with Egypt as the ceasefire agreement calls for. “We will not withdraw from the Philadelphi route. We will not allow Hamas murderers to roam our border again with trucks and rifles, and we will not let them rearm through smuggling,” declared Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz today, reported Middle East Eye. Israel was supposed to begin withdrawing from the Philadelphi Corridor on Feb. 22, the last day of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, and complete it within eight days.
