Robert Amsterdam, a Canadian-American lawyer who represents the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, told the Tucker Carlson Show in an interview aired Feb. 19, 2025 that the U.S. is directly responsible for the Ukrainian suppression of the church, reported RT.
Amsterdam charged that the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Kiev regime’s anti-Russian alternative Orthodox Church, set up to replace the allegedly Russian-controlled Ukrainian Orthodox Church, was created “with the active connivance of the United States government.” He claimed the money was likely funneled through the State Department’s U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) or a similar agency, but the entire endeavor was “kind of a CIA operation.”
