Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski says that he supports French President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal for a meeting in Paris to discuss the Trump peace plan for Ukraine. (Are the Europeans attempting to, in effect, launch a counteroffensive against the Trump-Putin initiative?)
“President Trump has a method of operating which the Russians call razvedka boyem—reconnaissance through battle: You push and you see what happens, and then you change your position. ... And we need to respond,” said Sikorski. A meeting should take place on Feb. 17, but, except for Prime Minister Keir Starmer, it is not clear how many Europeans will attend. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has apparently already made his reservations to go to Paris.
