The Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) issued an open letter to all Democratic Members of Congress earlier this week, calling on them to back Trump’s initiative to bring peace to Ukraine. “We urge you, our elected Democrats, to set aside party politics and endorse a negotiated settlement, ceasefire and end to weapons for Ukraine.” The letter made it clear that they “denounce Trump’s call to ethnically cleanse Gaza … we agree with his statements about the need to end the killing in Ukraine.”
The letter is signed by Tim Carpenter and Mike Caggiano of PDA, and Medea Benjamin and Marcy Winograd, both of whom are also part of PDA. PDA is a political action committee founded in 2004 by Kevin Spidel, the National Field Director for the Kucinich for President campaign, and Tim Carpenter, the Deputy Campaign Manager for Kucinich.
