Unless there is a policy change, the EU is starting another “Laputa” project this year: the march towards complete elimination of gas for civilian use (heating and cooking). The anti-gas crusade is going to fail miserably, but it nevertheless will start with the following steps:

2025: lifting of all subsidies for gas burners

2028: government buildings will be the first to completely eliminate the use of fossil fuels for heating

2030: residential energy consumption is to be reduced by 16%, through upgrading the least efficient buildings
