The 93rd consecutive weekly meeting of the International Peace Coalition (IPC) was held on March 14, after the release and circulation of the statement by Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche entitled “Instead of Rearming for the Great War, We Need to Create a Global Security Architecture.” Zepp-LaRouche opened the meeting, saying the world is now at a “breaking point,” with the phone call between United States President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin today indicating that the war in Ukraine may soon be over—which, if true, would be very good news. The danger lies in the fact that the European leadership is acting insanely, pushing for a European-wide mobilization for war with Russia.
The European Union is planning a €800 billion war chest, despite the bankruptcy of many of the members of the EU, while in Germany the Parliament has voted to approve a €400 billion war chest—despite the fact that many members of Parliament who voted for the increased defense budget were defeated in the Feb. 23 federal election and will soon be replaced. The Constitutional Court will decide if this is an illegal procedure.
The Arab League plan to rebuild Gaza is also positive, although an in-place report from a doctor in Gaza (see below) makes clear the situation is still dangerous. The most positive signal came from the Chinese Global Times news, which called for a new global security policy similar to that proposed by Zepp-LaRouche, for a “new security and development architecture for all nations.” This and a similar call by Putin shows that such a global policy is possible, based on principles like those from the 1648 Peace of Westphalia.
Colonel (ret.) Richard Black, a Marine combat veteran, Army JAG officer and former State Senator in the Commonwealth of Virginia, who has spoken on the criminal war against Syria in former IPC meetings, addressed the outbreak of a slaughter of Alawites in northern Syria over the past weeks. The jihadist regime which seized power in Damascus has killed over 1,500 civilians in an onslaught which has seen entire families wiped out. The Alawites, he said, are the elite of the country, who have overseen the just treatment of Christians and all religions in the country, before the CIA began the regime change war against the Bashar al-Assad government in 2011 under U.S. President Barack Obama. The Assad government, he said, was “the most democratic in the Arab world, with freedom of speech, religion, and women’s rights.” He praised the Lebanon government which has allowed Alawites to escape into their country, and the Russians who have allowed 7,000 Alawites refuge in their military bases, which the government has thus far allowed to remain in place. Trump, he said, is in an odd position. He tried to shut down the U.S. role in the country during his first term, but the military and intelligence “deep state” refused.
Dr. Feroze Sidwa, an American trauma care surgeon, joined the meeting from Gaza. He said there were fewer killings now than during the peak of the genocide, but that there are still shootings, and even shooting between Palestinian groups, driven by the “mental anguish” of the war. Gaza, he said, is “obliterated,” with block after block of buildings and homes in rubble. “This is all our doing” as Americans, he said. “There are atrocities by the Israelis, but we did it.”
A Moment of Truth
Graham Fuller, a former CIA official who served as the vice-chairman of the National Intelligence Council, said of the situation in Europe: “I haven’t seen such a crisis in my lifetime.” This is a “moment of truth. Europeans must ask, ‘who are we?’ ” The presumed fear of Russian aggression is patently false. There is a very different Russia today than during the era of the Soviet Union. The plan of the West was to use NATO not only against the Soviet Union, but as a global force, and pushed NATO up to the Russian border.
Trump is finally telling the truth about this, that he understands Russia’s fear of having NATO on its border. The domination of NATO after World War II caused the European population to be “socialized or brainwashed” by the demonization of the Soviet Union and Russia. Now they are rearming, and in some cases calling the U.S. the new enemy. Europe clearly cannot sustain a war on Russia. They must overcome this anti-Russia mentality. “Hopefully, they will come to their senses.” There are solutions, he said, like Zepp-LaRouche’s idea of a trans-Eurasia cooperation, an idea which even Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev had proposed when the Soviet Union collapsed.
Mossi Raz, a former member of the Israeli Knesset and former director-general of Peace Now, spoke on the situation with the ceasefire in Gaza. He described the ceasefire as being hopeful and how the Israeli government needs to accept a two-state solution. He looked at the Arab League meeting in Cairo, where the Egyptian plan was agreed upon more or less, which in his view is a great plan in starting to solve the crisis. He believes this proposal can change the political dynamic in Palestine and bring the population of Palestine together.
Ray McGovern, a former CIA official and co-founder of the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), and a regular participant in the IPC, thanked his old friend Graham Fuller, and supported what he had put forward. He said that the confidence of Putin and the Russian leadership at this time “has seldom been seen before.” He praised both Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, noting that Lavrov had a meeting with his friends, Larry Johnson and Judge Andrew Napolitano.
Russia must decide what to do with the ten thousand Ukrainian troops who are now trapped in Russia’s Kursk region, due to the failed invasion by the regime of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and also the mercenaries who have been captured. He said Putin must not be over-confident, since French President Emmanuel Macron is ranting about using nuclear weapons, and he does have them. We must not let down our offensive in the U.S. and in Europe as well, as the Deep State still has sponsors in power.
He praised U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard for lifting the security clearances of the Biden-regime intelligence officials in the Deep State, including Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, John Brennan, and James Clapper, but warned that Gabbard’s effort to get Lt. Colonel (ret.) Danny Davis (whom McGovern described as “one of us” although he is not a member of VIPS) is being stopped by the Israel Lobby. He reminded that in 2009 then DNI Dennis Blair tried to appoint Chas Freeman (whom McGovern called “the best of the best”) but it was sabotaged by the Israel Lobby. He called on Gabbard to hold her ground.
He told the story of Seth Rich, the employee at the Democratic National Committee who allegedly leaked to Wikileaks the emails showing that Hillary Clinton and her people at the DNC were sabotaging the other candidates campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination, and was then killed on the streets of Washington. He said the FBI was given a court order to release the documents on the case, but they redacted the most important parts. McGovern called on the new FBI chief Kash Patel to clear that up and get the truth out.
Democracy Is Dead in the EU
Zepp-LaRouche pointed to the countries of Eastern Europe which have not capitulated to the anti-Russia hysteria: Hungary, Slovakia, Georgia, Austria and others. It is worth fighting to restore European Classical culture, not to let it die with the war policy based on the lie that Putin intends to invade Europe. Already, she said, it is clear that democracy is dead in the EU, with Romania removing the winning anti-war candidate simply because he was against the war.
Tatiana Zdanoka, who served for twenty years in the European Parliament from Latvia, defending the rights of the Russian-speaking minority in the EU before being removed and prosecuted as a Russian asset, spoke on the continuing destruction of democratic rights in Europe, expressing hope that there is growing opposition to this.
Jack Gilroy, a leader of Veterans for Peace, reported that he and his organization were holding demonstrations against the “Merchants of Death” in the military-industrial complex on April 15 at Cornell and Binghamton Universities.
Jacques Cheminade, the head of the LaRouche-associated organization Solidarité et Progrès in France, said that “Europe is not the EU.” With Trump opening ties to Russia and moving to end the war, Europe is switching its allegiance from the U.S. and NATO to the British, who constructed NATO and the Cold War to begin with through Winston Churchill’s “Iron Curtain,” and by orchestrating the control by the banking system over the governments. The pushing of the cryptocurrencies is the next step in this process, and a weakness in Donald Trump.
Zepp-LaRouche had two proposals at the end of the meeting: that we invite more members of the Global South to participate in future IPC meetings, to educate the world on the role of the BRICS, which, along with other nations of the Global South, now represent 85% of the world’s population. She encouraged everyone to circulate her statement (mentioned above), and call for ending geopolitics in favor of “one humanity.” She also proposed that leaders of peace groups attending the meeting join in a task force to meet and discuss how to expand the work of the IPC.
