March 27, 2025 (EIRNS)—Ukraine’s acting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a roundtable conversation yesterday with journalists, said that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s time is running out. “He will die soon, and that’s a fact, and it will come to an end.” He added to the Daily Express: “He definitely has some problems. Journalists are writing about cancer, but what we saw back in 2022 looked more like the consequences of a mini-stroke.” Apparently, this is what is taken as a “fact” in an increasingly desperate Kiev these days. Such public pronouncements have been heard before, from Zelenskyy’s head of the GUR (the Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate), the hyperventilating Kyrylo Budanov, over the last couple of years, but not directly from Zelenskyy.
The Daily Mail then reviewed various rumors as the basis for Zelenskyy’s “fact.” They explained that there have been years of speculation that Putin is suffering from “health problems” and may have even had a “mini-stroke.” They cite Abbas Gallyamov as one who worked as a speechwriter for Putin up until 2008, and reports that his former boss showed signs of more serious health issues two years ago. But contrary to the impression suggested by the Daily Mail, Gallyamov has no knowledge of Putin’s condition! He moved to Israel early in 2022, and then published his “Project ‘Successor': Prospects, Conditions, Candidates,” on moving beyond Putin. Russia’s Justice Ministry placed him on their “Foreign Agents” list two years ago, because of his repeated fake stories.
