March 24, 2025 (EIRNS)—After hyping a “European unity,” prepared to take on Russia now that there is a threat of peace breaking out in Ukraine, the warmongers in Europe are seeing major setbacks. Zero Hedge reported that the March 20 summit in Brussels that was set to discuss the “ReArm Europe” agenda was more of a flop than anything. One participant’s summary claimed that the European Council “struggled to formulate a single strategy” for aid to Ukraine, as multiple countries stalled and argued over the details. The impasse was so great that the summit ended after one day, despite having been scheduled for two.
Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico was the most outspoken, and he reportedly told the attendees: “We cannot stubbornly insist on sanctions at all costs…. If we [Slovakia] perceive an attempt for further sanctions as something that could undermine the peace process, we are ready to veto it.” He added that it would be “dangerous” for the image of the EU if the bloc remains “the only one that wants to fight.”
