March 26, 2025 (EIRNS)—The Moorburg coal-fired plant, which cost €3 billion and produced enough power for the entire city of Hamburg, has been demolished, in an action exemplary of the Green madness that has gripped Germany. The plant is very modern: It went into operation in 2015 and was expected to supply 11.5 TWh of electrical energy. On Dec. 1, 2020, the government of Angela Merkel started decommissioning it as part of the exit from coal, and from Jan. 1, 2021, electricity from these units could no longer be marketed.
