March 22, 2025 (EIRNS)—Christoph Heusgen, the former head of the Munich Security Conference, spoke out in favor of “strong European leadership soon,” according to German daily Die Welt. Germany, France, Great Britain and Poland must lead the way. He told Phoenix that during his time as head of the Munich Security Conference, he had “always tried” to “bring the so-called Weimar Triangle [France, Germany, Poland] to the stage.” However, he had not succeeded. Now, however, Heusgen is “optimistic” that this will succeed “in view of the current challenges.” In this context, Heusgen implied emphatically the necessity of enemy images and propaganda: the population must be “brought along” and it must be made clear to them “how urgent and necessary this rearmament of Europe is.”
