March 17, 2025 (EIRNS)—Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, leader of the Houthi Ansar Allah movement in Yemen, delivered a lengthy speech yesterday in which he vowed that Yemen will respond to the ongoing U.S. escalation with further escalation, including targeting American aircraft carriers, ships, and imposing embargoes. “If the U.S. aggression against our country continues, we will proceed with additional escalation options,” he stressed, reported Yemen News Agency. He pointed out that the U.S. aggression followed Yemen’s clear stance in holding Israel accountable for starving the people of Gaza. He stressed that the starvation of 2 million Palestinians is a grave crime, surpassing all other major crimes. Al Houthi stressed that Yemen has a responsibility, “first and foremost, on all our peoples and countries, to take serious action to prevent the crime of starvation in Gaza.” He considered the American intervention alongside the Israelis as a partnership in all their crimes and the assumption of a role that protects them.
