March 29, 2025 (EIRNS)—In a press conference in Hanoi, Vietnam today, before heading back to Brazil, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva praised U.S. President Donald Trump for trying to negotiate a peace in Ukraine, unlike his predecessor Joe Biden, who should have, but did not, Brasil 247 reports.
“Insofar as Trump takes the decision to discuss peace between Russia and Ukraine, which Joe Biden should have taken, I am obliged to say that, in this respect, Trump is on the right track,” Lula stated. Given the sharp attacks which Trump has leveled against Brazil in the past, Lula’s approach was that of the statesman looking for points of agreement, not further conflict.
