March 19, 2025 (EIRNS)—Speaking to RT on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue in India on March 18, prior to the Trump-Putin call later that day, Slovakia’s Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar stated: “Countries of the Global South should be one part of these [Ukrainian] security guarantees. Countries like China, Brazil, also India, introduced some peace proposals, and they want to be involved in this.” Putin made direct reference to those same BRICS countries, along with South Africa, in his press conference on March 13 in which he commented on the U.S.-sponsored ceasefire proposal, thanking both Trump and the leaders of those other four countries for working for peace.
