March 30, 2025 (EIRNS)—Konstantin Yeliseyev, Kiev’s former permanent representative to the EU, told an interviewer from Ukraine’s Radio NV that, in the recent negotiations between the U.S. and Russia, “we [Ukrainians] along with the Americans lost these negotiations completely. I would say 5-0, one ball after another into our net. We lost. Let’s be honest.”
RT reported that Yeliseyev [transliterated as Eliseev from the Russian] listed off his complaints about the outcome: “The issue of ports was not protected from attacks in any way.… There are already hints about removing some Russian banks from [restrictions in] the SWIFT system, and that is very bad.… Unfortunately—and with the silent backing of the Americans—the Russians have managed to push our European partners away from the negotiating table,” Yeliseyev said.
