March 25, 2025 (EIRNS)—Yesterday the Russian Defense Ministry issued a statement reporting that the Kiev regime had launched a drone attack aimed at the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) in Krasnodar region. Russian air defenses shot down the drone 7 km away from the pumping station, and no damage was done. The Kiev regime had earlier attacked the pumping station on Feb. 17, and then hit a CPC transfer station in the Kavkazskaya stanitsa (rural locality) on March 19 “a few hours after the Russian President agreed to accept the proposal of his American counterpart on temporary ceasefire against energy infrastructure of Ukraine.” Reuters reported on March 24 that a fire was still raging at the transfer station five days after it was hit. The CPC transports crude oil from Kazakhstan over Russian territory to a terminal on the Black Sea and includes Chevron and Exxon among its shareholders.
“Thus, despite the statements made by Zelenskyy, including those announced to American partners, the Kiev regime continues to plan, prepare, and conduct attacks targeting energy infrastructure, including the international one, situated on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the statement said. “All of this proves once again that it is impossible to come to an agreement with Kiev,” the ministry added a few hours later.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov indicated yesterday that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s order was still in effect despite the Kiev regime’s continuing attacks on energy infrastructure, including a hit on a power plant in the Zaporozhye region which knocked out power to 11,000 households.
