The British have now joined President Donald Trump’s campaign against the Houthis. The U.K. Ministry of Defense announced this morning that RAF Typhoon fighter jets, supported by Voyager air refueling tankers “participated in a joint operation with U.S. forces against a Houthi military target in Yemen. This action was in line with long-standing policy of the U.K. government, following the Houthis initiating their campaign of attacks in November 2023, threatening freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, striking international ships, and killing innocent merchant mariners.” The British target was a cluster of buildings supposedly “used by the Houthis to manufacture drones of the type used to attack ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, located some 15 miles south of Sana’a,” the statement claimed.
In Yemen, the “Government of Change and Construction,” the title of the government formed in Sana’a in 2024, vowed that “the British enemy” must reckon with its predicament and anticipate the consequences of its aggression against the Republic of Yemen, reported Saba News.
“With typical British impudence, the British Ministry of Defense announced the implementation of a joint military aggression with the American enemy against our country, south of Sana’a, in response, the Government of Change and Construction affirms that the British enemy must reckon with its predicament and anticipate the consequences of its aggression against the Republic of Yemen,” it said.
The statement added, “While the government pledges to respond to this brutal and unlawful aggression, it affirms that it comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts of the American and British enemies to support the Israeli enemy by attempting to stop Yemen’s support for Palestine, so that the Israeli enemy can isolate Gaza and continue its crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people there.”
Saba News notes that the statement pointed out that “this joint aggression once again proves that the United States and Britain are allies in the same aggression against Yemen and Palestine, stressing that Yemen’s position will remain steadfast in supporting the Palestinian people in their battle for the promised conquest and holy jihad.”
