Two high-level deployments, by King Charles III and J.D. Vance, are taking place in Italy from now to Easter. Charles, who has landed in Rome April 3, is trying to keep Italy in the anti-Trump camp, with use of threats and blackmails; Vance, who will be in Rome April 18 to April 20, in other words he will spend Easter in Rome, will do the opposite: try to pull PM Giorgia Meloni fully in the Trump camp.
The British Royal couple had meetings with State President Mattarella and Meloni, discussing NATO unity, climate finance etc. and Charles addressed the Italian Parliament. A sustainability roundtable was scheduled at the British Embassy with Italian and British CEOs. The Anglo-French have signalled that if Meloni does not dance their music, they have the capability of pulling the plug replace the government with Mario Draghi.
