Despite the exploding tariff war, China’s Commerce Ministry hosted leading U.S. CEOs in a roundtable meeting on Monday in which Ling Ji, China’s Vice Commerce Minister and Deputy China International Trade Representative, said, “China remains resolute in its path toward reform and opening up.”
The meeting included representatives from over 20 American companies, including Tesla, GE Healthcare, and Medtronic, Global Times reported. Apple’s CEO Tim Cook had attended the China Development Forum 2025 at the end of March, and said that Apple “will continue to expand its investments in supply chain, research and development, and social welfare in China, contributing to the country’s high-quality development,” according to media reports.
