Chinese Foreign Ministry Reflects on Three Years of Xi's 'Global Security Initiative'

On April 21, 2022, President of China Xi Jinping issued what he called a Global Security Initiative, to overcome the Cold War-mentality that was dragging the world toward conflict, replacing it with a development-oriented concept of “security.”

Today, three years later, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Guo Jiakun spoke about the success of the approach:

“The GSI has gained the support of over 120 countries and regional and international organizations,” he said. While not all of these expressions of support have resulted in concrete achievements, Guo reported specific ways China has been active on the international scene:
