As CDU-CSU and SPD are accelerating negotiations in order to be able to present the new Merz government before Easter, Merz’s support is sinking faster than the Reichsmark in 1922. Only two days after pollsters had reported about the AfD equal with the CDU-CSU at 25%, an Ipsos poll, published by Focus, showed the CDU-CSU being now at 24% and the AfD, with 25%, for the first time leading with one percent advantage.
