Israel expanded its two-front war against Palestine and Lebanon, attempting to destabilize Southwest Asia, as Defense Minister Israel Katz declared a new mass evacuation of Palestinians.
On April 11, Katz announced that Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had completed the takeover of a “security zone” in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, separating the cities of Rafah and Khan Younis, which allegedly harbors Hamas. This “security zone is being expanded, including in the Netzarim Corridor,” BBC reported on April 12.
Accordingly, the IDF instructed tens of thousands of residents of Khan Younis and surrounding areas in southern Gaza to immediately flee. “Troops are operating with significant force in the area, and will strike with intensity on any location from which rockets are launched,” AFP reported the military as having posted on X.
Katz said in his statement, “Soon, [army] operations will intensify and expand to other areas throughout most of Gaza, and you will need to evacuate the combat zones.” Israel resumed its offensive against Hamas on March 18 following the collapse of a two-month ceasefire, which Israel chose not to extend. Since then, it has seized large areas of Gaza, displacing hundreds of thousands of Gazans once more.
