Treatment of Jose Vega-Style Interventionist Ends in Lawsuit in Idaho

Teresa Borrenpohl, a local political activist and a former Democratic candidate for state representative was dragged out of a Republican town hall meeting on Feb. 22 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The men who forcibly removed her were not wearing uniforms of any kind indicating that they were security guards.

Many of the 450 people in attendance were shocked by her treatment, including many of Republicans. On Feb. 26 the North Idaho Republicans posted on Facebook their support for Borrenpohl and her free speech rights and their opposition to any form of cancel culture. The event had been advertised as open to the public and an opportunity to meet local lawmakers. The audience was large and vocal, with people both cheering and jeering the various lawmakers.
