Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova explained in great detail during her weekly press briefing on April 24 why it is that acting Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his regime in Kiev are the greatest threats to a peace agreement, not the Russians. “With every hour, with every second, with every day, it is becoming more and more evident that there is no negotiating an agreement with Volodymyr Zelenskyy,” she stated at the outset. She cited the failure of the Kiev regime to abide by either the 30-day moratorium on attacks on energy infrastructure and disruption of the Easter truce as only the latest examples.

“The numerous acts of terror committed by AFU militants on Easter Sunday, a holiday observed by Christians all over the world, have once again demonstrated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy is incapable of negotiating (possibly due to unsound mind),” Zakharova said. “Apparently, the armed gangs of neo-Nazis and mercenaries have lost all restraint. They do not seem to realize whom they are obeying, contributing to a fatal escalation of the war.”

While the Kiev regime continues to commit crimes against civilians–including violating the sanctuary of churches during Easter services in order to kidnap men to send to their deaths on the front lines—"Western support for Kiev continues, both militarily and financially,” Zakharova remarked, listing the details of plans of a half-dozen European countries to send over $10 billion worth of military hardware to Ukraine.
