The New York Post reported that “anonymous senior administration sources” told them that Trump expects to “make a determination for a full and comprehensive ceasefire” between Ukraine and Russia as early as next week, when diplomats from Moscow and Washington will be meeting in London. Moscow will be presented with a “best and final” offer, developed following U.S. discussions with Ukraine this week, the sources say.

According to the publication, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov told U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and President Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff during their meeting in Paris on April 17, that Kiev is “90%” on board with Washington’s peace framework, which has yet to be made public.

The unconfirmed report says that Trump may be willing to offer to remove sanctions and unfreeze Moscow’s seized assets currently held by Western institutions.

Britain’s Sky News reports that Ukraine denies that it is “90%” on board with the peace proposal presented in Paris. The Defense Ministry “does not make political decisions,” it told Sky News, and therefore could not have made any “assessments of percentage.” In the statement, Ukraine criticized Russia for not accepting the March 11 ceasefire proposal. Russia has said that it wants to address the root causes of the conflict, not merely achieve a pause in the fighting.

“HOPEFULLY RUSSIA AMD UKRAINE WILL MAKE A DEAL THIS WEEK,” Trump posted on Truth Social today (in all caps), “BOTH WILL THEN START TO DO BIG BUSINESS WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WHICH IS THRIVING, AND MAKE A FORTUNE!”
