Richard Falk Created a ‘Gaza Tribunal’ in November 2024

Prof. Richard Falk, Emeritus Professor at Princeton and the former United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories from 2008-2014, organized a “Gaza Tribunal” organization in November 2024. In a founding meeting in London with over 100 participants, the intent was to fill the gap left by the failure of the international community, including the UN’s International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, to bring about an end to the Israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza. The board of the institution includes two other Special Rapporteurs for Palestine and other leading activists against the horror in Gaza and Palestine generally.

The founding statement, as seen in https://gazatribunal.com/gaza-tribunal-launched-in-london-to-initialize-its-process/">an archived copy of gazatribunal.com, says: “Gaza Tribunal’s second phase is scheduled for May 2025 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.… The tribunal’s main hearing, a crucial part of the initiative, is planned for October 2025 in Istanbul, Türkiye. In Istanbul, an expert panel will present a draft of the tribunal’s findings and decisions, incorporating testimonies from witnesses and statements from Palestinian civilians and organizations affected by the crisis.”
